The Folkestone Community Swing Band was formed in 2019 at the Folkestone Academy.
Keith Davis, a former Army Musician with a heart for the local community, wanted to give something back and support local charities and the social wellbeing of all. Initially, he was sceptical about recruiting enough people with ambition, drive and the skills to see his initiative through. However, following a small gathering of keen volunteers, the band spiralled upwards and we became a registered charity, supporting the Alzheimer's Society.
Since Covid 19, sadly, numbers have diminished and he is keen to get back to what we are good at. If anyone is interested or indeed knows of anyone suitable, please feel free to email Keith.
